About Our Community

So…why are you here? If you stumbled upon a blog post on the Internet or heard about this blog from a friend, welcome! Of Unity and Faith was created for individuals who are seeking to become better disciples of Jesus Christ and help others do the same. We are a community devoted to discovering and understanding our faith in Jesus Christ as well as our relationship with Him and our Heavenly Father. But that’s not all. We also desire to become united in purpose with them.

But…how are we going to accomplish all of this? It is a process—a process designed to put what we have learned into action each and every day. You have goals, and so do I. I want to share my spiritual experiences with you in hopes that you can relate in some way to my story. We are all unique individuals and have something to bring to the table. As you learn from me, I encourage you to teach me too.

Of Unity and Faith sprouted from a seed that was planted in my heart as I pondered the scripture Ephesians 4:13:

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

As I contemplated that scripture, I felt that what Paul shared in Philippians 4:8 will also help us in this process:

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

I believe that together we can fulfill the steps listed in these scriptures.

So, come and join me in this journey!

About Natalia

Hello, there, I am Natalia, and I started Of Unity and Faith. Thanks for stopping by!

No matter what life has thrown at me, I always found that if I put God first, everything else fell into place. I learned that lesson as a teenager while attending seminary,, an early morning class dedicated to studying the scriptures for an hour before school started. After I started college, it definitely became harder trying to balance a full semester of classes, working two part-time jobs, and trying to offer service to others. Then graduate school became my full-time job for four years. Through each stage of my life, I had to alter my schedule to make sure God continued to be a part of the big picture. Now that school is finally over (yay!), I can concentrate on what I have wanted to do for a very long time.

I was raised in Bogota, Colombia and attended an all-girls Catholic school. That is where my foundation as a Christian began. I moved to the United States with my mother after she remarried, and found that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints helped me grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My love for the scriptures grew as I attended classes in the Primary, Young Women, Sunday school, Seminary, Relief Society, and Institute programs over the years. But my greatest spiritual moments have come in the comfort of my bedroom or at the kitchen table as I studied topics on my own.

Now, I am going to immerse myself in a more in-depth study of the scriptures. If you want to do the same, please join me.
